The Second Kingdom of Keller was a sovereign kingdom founded in the year 1A 4250. During it's beginning it was a powerful trade kingdom and often made dealings with the Danen tribes. However, it found an immediate rival in Albion, another nation filled with ethnic Kells (calling themselves Lisanriks).
Being such a small kingdom, Keller was ruled by a sole king in the city of Keller's Coast. Unlike Albion, the crown was passed down by birth, and the king owned most of the land, besides the land ruled by the dukes of Brymoor and Orwood. With the King of the Kells having great authority, he sent out his own charters and enforced rule of law over his dukes. His power was also centralized entirely within his control, leading some of the border cities to become partially lawless, save for being controlled by the dukes.
Founding
Sometime after the first rebellions by Percival of Manneruck made their way from Gotha in the 4220's, the Kells, remembering their mighty Kellerite nation a thousand years ago, were inspired. During this time, a knight named Camdus the Courageous rose against the Dwarf Prince of Keller, Magluck Stonebelly. Magluck, knowing the fate of his Gothan brethren, wasted no time trying to put down the rebellion. Camdus however held a bridge near the town of Keller's coast, across the Drulikak River. Thus the rebellion fought the Dwarf Prince at the Battle of Drulikak Bridge. There, Camdus was slain, but it was too late for Magluck: Camdus was turned into a martyr.
The Kells elected a king to follow the roots of Camdus: Murray Myrick. Murray led the armies of the Kells against Magluck. Magluck tried to flee and head toward the Golden City for back-up, but first stopped at his fortress in Odensbruck. There, Murray Myrick and his host laid siege to the fortress to ensure the prince never escaped. After six months of besieging and the fortress destroyed, the dwarf prince surrendered. Murray then was crowned King of the Kells. His dynasty would last generations as the kings.
Danen Pressures
With Kellerite independence secured, the Kells finally began to focus on their own economy and trade. They began to focus on trading efforts with the petty kingdoms of Weawich, Brymoor, and Anfeld. However, much to their surprise, in the year 4300 a monastery in Bywich was sacked and looted by Danen raiders. The Kells were shocked, and went to warn Albion. The Danen went up their rivers and began to raid villages around the kingdom for loot to return to their homeland, in the name of Morganine.
