Theodora the Muse

Theodora the Muse was the identity of an anonymous actress in the Second Age. She was part of the theater trope called the "Muses of Myrna", a group of much popularity within the Empire of Tallia. She is also Jethro the Chronicler's twin sister, and a descendant of the legendary bard Reuel.

History

Theodora was born somewhere in Lysandus along with her twin brother, Jethro, at the start of the Second Age. While her brother decided to join the Bard College in Ebenwald, Theodora traveled to Faraway to live with her extended family. In the city of Myrna, she became a prominent actress. Her popularity began to grow so substantially that eventually the Emperor of Madeci, Kleos VI, asked that she preform in his court along with a few other Myrnan actors. Thus, she preformed a dramatized version of "Will of the Dragonlords", where Theodora played the villainous Qenlynn Millerstone. The performance was lauded by Kleos, letting Theodora's popularity bolster even further.
She would then reorganize the theater trope, called the Muses of Myrna, and make it into a more developed acting company. This brought in much profit into Theodora's life, and she began to dress in finer clothes and jewelry. She would testify that she does not view herself as a celebrity, but other bards and actors in Tallia and Madeci would beg to differ. Regardless, Theodora continued to help her fellow family members and manage the company for years to come.
In 2A 161, her brother Jethro visited her after decades of not seeing her. They discussed the matter of true history and storytelling, and Theodora offered to show her brother her forte: acting out an epic play, taking place in the ancient days of the Tallian Empire. Thus, her and Jethro served as a chorus for the tale, "An Odyssey in Dragoncrest".

Apparel & Accessories

Like Jethro, her brother, Theodora enjoys dressing in historical costumes. She is often dressed as a 21st Century Madeci actress, and wears a theatrical mask to hide her face. In fact, her body is covered head to toe, besides her hair. She also dresses in fine jewelry as a testament to her wealth and success.

Specialized Equipment

Theodora wears a Mask of Emotions, allowing herself to express herself without revealing her face to others. In reality, this keeps her anonymous and in-character, so many cannot see the person she truly is on the inside. Theodora also carries around spellscrolls and theatrical books on herself, a shortsword, and when travelling, dresses in leathers to protect herself. Also, she strangely carries a skull on her person, which is apparently for spellcasting.

Theodora is the head of the theatrical company, "The Muses of Myrna", to which she operates and acts in. She tends to preform classical plays, and always wears a mask in her roles, never showing her true face to allow the audience to really think she is the characters.

Morality & Philosophy

Unlike her brother, she views history as a fickle idea, one that has no definitive meaning. She thinks history is not a search for fact, but it is, rather, telling a story from what came before. She has no qualms about inaccuracies, because she thinks bards are the one who create the truth in their histories. In this, she finds power. She also seems to be more inclined to accepting the idea of fate, unlike her brother who prefers thinking things happen due to free will. This is because she is a follower of Vanu-Am, the Lady of Fate.

Likes & Dislikes

Theodora is what you would call a "snob", enjoying things only of the highest quality. She enjoys fine dining, fine arts, expensive clothes, jewelry, and big houses. Because of this snobbery, her brother Jethro refers to her as a "brat", as he viewed her as spoiled. Theodora admits she certainly spoils herself, but in her defense, she thinks it is a matter of principle: she would never settle for less in any situation.

Virtues & Personality perks

Theodora does use her wealth to donate to charities, and writes books for children to read when she is doing little. She is also the only member of her family looking after the household in Faraway, for many of her family (including Jethro) have remained in Eiren. As such, Theodora spends her days looking after her aging mother.

Vices & Personality flaws

Theodora is someone who is quick to judge, and tends to think she is better than most other people. This creates a sense of entitlement in her. She is also someone who doesn't mind lying to get the upper hand, leaving very little room for honesty. She views her entire existence as one of deception and lies, since she is an actor.
