The immediate effects included the devestation of most major cities in the former USA, as well as the ghoulification of a significant portion of the above ground and poorly sheltered population and the death of a even larger portion.
It is unknown which country won the war. In practical terms, no one did.
Aftermath
Radiation induced mutations damaged and altered the DNA of most recognizable species of flora and fauna. Visible mutations are still prevalent in the ecosystem over 210 years later.
Historical Significance
