Wasteland Sign Language

Descended from "American Sign Language," Wasteland Sign Language or "WSL" is used by individuals who are hearing impaired and their families and friends across the former United States of America. Each region has its own distinct dialect, but as American Sign Language is the basis, most communities who know a version of WSL will be able to muddle through it with other communities. Detective Nick Valentine of Diamond City in the Commonwealth Wasteland, is one of the few individuals to know several dialects of WSL. WSL is only taught as an "official language" in a few schools in the Commonwealth Wasteland, at Minuteman General Aubrey Wilson's insistence.
