North American Accords Handbook

This document is the legal code adopted by the Council of Supernatural Peoples at its inception in 1679. The original agreement only involves the documentation of agreements between the races, but newer editions of the pamphlet now include the laws and expectations within the individual groups so that leaders in an area can notify leadership of another group when one of their members behaves inappropriately.

Historical Details

Background

During the flight to North America, many supernatural peoples left Europe due to lack of territory in the hopes of finding somewhere to settle down. This was especially true of werewolves and vampires, who were not affected by the Black Death whereas the fae communities were decimated. As a result, vampire and werewolf populations grew dramatically in the following centuries and it was this population strain that led to the Great Purge among the werewolves and coincided with the human witch burnings on said continent. Upon arrival to North America, many of the more powerful entities found that there was more than enough space for them all to cohabit and came together to make a true addressing aggression between the factions that had been commonplace in Europe but would not be accepted in the New World.

Legacy

This document created a long-lasting peace in the North American continent that was very unlike anything ever seen in Europe or any other place touched by European Imperialism. Generally speaking, all of the races continue to work together into modern times, even if the relationships are strained.      One of the major critiques of this document is the lack of attention to the North American Indigenous Wolves, who were already struggling due to wholesale slaughter or forced incorporation by European packs. Their needs and rights were not considered at all, least of all by the North American Werewolf Confederacy which was comprised of werewolves of European descent.
