Rukafal

Rukafal is the anglicized name of the pidgin language based upon Greek, Welsh, and Gaelic that has, over the centuries, turned into a language completely unrecognizable for native speakers of each of the three. It also includes words inserted from Dacian and Gaulish. The pidgin language developed over centuries of She-Wolf contact between regions and was finally solidified into a written language by Cera when writing Cera's Grimoires. It became more standardized and widely-used during the Great Purge as a means for she-wolves and wolf-blooded women to identify one another when running from hunters. It was the official language of the Daughters of Leto and the only recovered documents written by the secret organization were written in this tongue.

Due to the demographic that spoke the language, there are sadly very few alive today that are known to speak it and deciphering its writings is next to impossible, due to the time the language drifted from its root before being written down andprimary alphabet used was Greek but also has letters from other languages inserted when an appropriate letter was not available. The confusing nature of the language is one of its strong points, as there are even less people able to read it alive today than there are who can speak. Despite the fact it draws its vocabulary from many languages that are still spoken in the modern day, the grammar and syntax makes it difficult to follow even for those familiar with the root languages.

One of the more amusing facts about the language is no one is entirely certain how to spell its name or even fully remembers the name, itself. One of the only individuals who could be considered any sort of expert, when asked the correct spelling of the name of the language, shrugged and said:

I don't really know, to tell you the truth. My mother always told me I couldn't spell worth a damn, anyway.

Gwydion White-Cerason has maintained, even into modern times, that he believes the effort to translate most of the written works of the time is certainly wasted, given the lack of standardization of the language and average literacy of those attempting to write things down. He, himself would not trust the ritual information passed along.

Mostly Greek lettering with some Ogham and Roman letters added in to cover sounds or letters that were not covered by the Greeks.
