Commander of the Knights of Salire

The Commander of the Knights of Salire is both a military and government position. Having control of the Knights of Salire a group that is tasked with enforcing the laws of Salire and providing it defense against invaders. While no commander has ever had to lead the knights in defending the city, so they end up operating more as a police force. Though at some part of the war some of the knights have been sent to aid in defending engineers are supporting the imperial knights many forts.
Primarly the Commander of the knights has to listen to the desires of the noble council and operate as their sword and shield against any groups who poses to undermine their rule in the city and the frozen lands. This has lead to the commanders having to lead the knights against uprisings and criminal operations that don't have the go ahead of the nobles. This have lead many commanders to find them selves seen as evil in the eyes of the downtrodden.
What some are happy for the commander and the knights is their actions against dangerous creatures that roam the frozen lands. Sometimes alone or with the aid of the hunters they can do battle with these dangerous beast. The most recent commander has taken actions to deal with the threats from beast by putting bounties on some of the more problematic beasts. They also have order guards to patrol key trading routes.
Every Knight Commander is chosen by the leader of the Bolden Family and will answer to the family as they handle most of the funding and training of the knights. This has lead many of the commanders being considered friends of the Bolden as they would never place anyone they didn't trust. This has lead to the Bolden increasing in power and rarely being challenged by the other families as long as they maintained the safety of the other nobles interests.
