The Gateway of the Empire

The Gateway of the empire blocks off anyone from entering from the west. A massive wall and fortress that goes from the great mountains in the south all the way to the frozen ocean to the north. This wall has many proud presari warriors protecting it along with powerful sigils and spirits aiding in its protection. As long as the wall stands no one shall march upon the empire's land. -Ace Cardia

Purpose / Function

The Gateway was built as a means of defense against the threat of the Volza. A powerful earth element user built the original wall with the aid of a great earth spirit that cost him his life but stopped the advance of the Volza. In time this natural wall would bee enhanced with iron and steel. Turned from a stone wall to a large fortress that would stand against all threats.

Alterations

The once stone wall was slowly turned into a fortress by the presari building tunnels and stairs to be able to reach the top of the wall. It had sigils added to enhance the durability and allow for magic to be fired from the very wall. It also has many sigils set up to aid in repairing any damage done to the wall. In recent times guns and cannons were added. There is also a train station added to allow for trade of goods with the towns in the territories of the edge.

History

The gateway was once known as the wall. A giant stone wall created as a last-ditch effort to stop the Volza. With a large supply of zidian shards and pearls, a might mage cast a powerful spell. One that needed the aid of the spirits and would cost him his life. He forged the wall of stone made from the hardest rocks and imbued with powerful essence to strengthen it with a sigil array.   While the wall would weaken in time thanks to the magic weakening over the years. The presari would continue his great work and turn the stone wall into a fortress that would stand for as long as the empire shall exist.
