The Rebellion against the natural order
The Norasa Empire once spanned over a great land and was held in the deepest regard by most. The bright colors that adorned each house, and the intricacies of their armor alongside the discipline their soldiers had made many look to them as though they were flawless. However, corruption lay deep within, which could not be suppressed forever.
Rebellion against the natural order soon took place, as the Civil War raged. The sounds of battle echoed through every street, cults of necromancy and pyromancers ran rampant. Generals who harbored ambitions played both sides of the conflict, and the first 'adventurers' ran rampant. As it often is, the lowest class of people suffered the most, and not even the blood games and bards hired by the governments could keep them docile during this time. Legends claim that a peasant killed a nobleman in self-defense, and in doing so damned them all. The recent death of Galax and the cruelty shown by the self-proclaimed protectors fueled their fear.
Thousands of peasants took to the fields, riding into villages and raising poorly armed masses, breaking the chains from those they considered oppressed. Their motto was simple. Fight or Die. From the highest spire to the lowest valley, these fought, leaving those who would not follow them to their fates. However, they often donated any usable armor or weapons to those left behind.
When they reached the gates of the Capital they too were met with the spell that would sever the very foundations of the world. They beheld as two great beings, star-like figures beyond comprehension were seen within the skies, and struck the land with two great swords. The immense presence caused mania among those who gazed too long upon it. With a swift movement, the lands were shattered. Lava flowed. The seas were filled with death as massive waves tore apart much of the land.
Those sworn to the rebellion, in the wake of this, returned to their homes and rebuilt.
