Knights of Holy Shielding

The Knightly Order of the Shield Lands. They are looked upon with less favour than other knights because they failed to defend their own nation twice in the last ten years: against the Horned Society and Bandit Kingdoms in 579 CY and Iuz in 583 CY. In 586-588 CY, during the Great Northern Crusade, Shield Knights in exile flocked to King Belvor’s banner and returned to their homeland in force. Supported by Furyondy, the Knights of Holy Shielding liberated Critwall and Scragholme Island in a series of bloody battles. Knight Commander Lady Katarina of Walworth leads the Knights in their War of Reclamation, which continues to this day. The Knights of Holy Shielding are noted rivals of the Knights of the Hart, who dismiss them with contempt.
