Caravaneer

Caravaneers are individuals who roam the wastes with high value goods to trade to various consumers. They often travel on set paths, although sometimes dabble in prospecting.

Career

Qualifications

Caravaneers often have a good knowledge of certain prices pertaining to their trade, and will take into note both political and natural implications to how it may affect their product. Caravaneers are oftentimes pastime prospectors, as they know the lands and people well enough to travel long distances without hassle.

Payment & Reimbursement

Pool Schemes

Many Caravaneer companies, such as the Free Undatan Trade Association, work on what is known as a pool scheme system. Essentially, if a member wishes to join a caravan, they must first invest a minimum amount of Xel into it (the prices may vary depending on the caravan.)   This Xel is then used to buy goods at which they hike to desired locations to sell for profit, and is distributed evenly among the caravan members, at which they're obligated to pool in money towards the caravan for certain supplies. Pool schemes are often desired as the equal pay that each member invests into the caravan, which allows for higher quality tools at their disposal, such as better weaponry for caravan guards.

Spear Fishing

Spear fishing are what members who trade alone often do. Spear fishing consists of finding random loners or drifters to recruit for their caravans at a one time, usually temporary fee. These consist of mercenaries that these caravaneers find on the road, or perhaps lonely drifters trying to earn some cash.

Perception

Purpose

Traders are the lifeline of the global economy. They are responsible for most of the trade throughout Tornia, and feed the consumer market for various needed goods that all kinds of wasteland inhabitants require. Anything from firearms to medicinal herbs are supplied through these vital trading commutes.

Operations

Tools

It is vital for caravaneers to be able to carry as much as they possibly can at the fastest rate possible, as the longer one is out in the wastes, the more danger that precedes them. As such, many caravaneers will have either large livestock to carry their merchandise, or large carts which are made out of certain parts of left over vehicles, which litter the wastes.

Dangers & Hazards

The wasteland is incredibly hostile, and as such, caravaneers will encounter many Raiders or possibly Hunters as they make their rounds across their routes. That, alongside many natural hazards such as natural disasters and carbon clouds which may hinder their ability to move efficiently, can spell a death sentence -- or lost cargo.
