Major language groups and dialects

There are two main groups of Knomnolite dialect.

ANCIENT KNOKO

Mostly unchanged from its original formation, Ancient Knoko, sometimes called Old World Knoko, is the dialect which was spoken during the Xiqen Dynasty. It is hardly known, usually only practiced by specific cultures or Scholars.

VAYAN KNOKO

Vayan Knoko is a dialect that was formed in the central continents of Vai, after the persecuted Knomnolites roamed the lands after the collapse of the Xiqen Dynasty. It's ever changing, and has evolved from its original form from Ancient Knoko over two thousand years ago.

Culture and cultural heritage

There are three main heritages of the Knomnolite culture.

XIQEN REQUIEM

The Xiqen Requiem is a group of Knomnolites that uphold the original notion of Terokon and the Xiqen Dynasty's values. They believe that Terokon is the face of a new world. They primarily speak Ancient Knoko, however are versed in more modern forms like Vayan Knoko and Eukaran (the language of Normatites, most commonly spoken on the Tornun continent).

THE EXECUTIO

The Executio, despite being a political group, is also a cultural house of Knomnolites dating back a century and a half. The Executio upholds that Terokon is not a damaging power among society, as the they believe the Normatites seem to claim, rather it is a motion in which was gifted to them to uphold their ancient heritage and bring about the destruction of the Normatite regime, and free the world from their ideology of "separate but equal." More often, they speak Vayan Knoko.

CROSSER-MEI

Crosser-Mei is a cultural house that believes that Terokon is to be used to grant a new age, free from all modern life currently inhabiting Ciphrus. They believe that the Haze, a deity which is said to have been summoned using Terokon, is the harbinger of the New Epoch. The New Epoch, in their eyes, is the decree that all life on Ciphrus is to be wiped out, so the planet can start anew.

Shared customary codes and values

Many cultures are practitioners of Terokon, a belief system whose central idea is that the necessary use of Tagon should be restrained. It is widely believed that Terokon should be a forbidden Termoyl art, as it is most often correlated with tactics of manipulation and illusion used by the Xiqen dynasty to control its lower caste. This, however, is a misinterpretation of Terokon's original purpose.   Some cultures also have a hatred of the Normatites, as they believe that Normatite-heavy countries, such as Tornun and Undata were responsible for the suppression of their ancestry.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

A common custom in Selahktia is for Knomnolites to wear long cloaks and masks to hide their identity. This is to avoid any unnecessary complications with Normatites or other races that despise them, but the cloaks and masks also hold a cultural significance. Sometimes, mask creators implement artistic criticism of their idea of Normatite oppression, including tear drops beneath the eyes made with real blood. An incredibly common symbol is a smile lacking an eye. This idea was birthed due to the saying that was developed across the years:   "An eye for an eye, and the whole world burns."   This symbolizes a sense of rebellion, which states that the Normatites are intent on destroying them due to their accused blindness of other cultures, and that the mask-bearers are comfortable with destroying themselves if it means ending the described "Normatite regime."

Historical figures

BLINK

Blink is a major historical figure, who brought upon the Executio uprising in post-event Ciphrus. She, alongside her partner, Justicar, are devoted to ending the Normatite regime and bringing equality across the landscape of Selahktia and Tornun for both Diphrins and Ciphrins.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

They do not regard gender or sexuality as a defining feature in other Knomnolites, and see attraction as a subjective trait.
