The Republic Of Tornun

The Republic of Tornun was a federation of mega city-states owned by a class-based neofeudalist oligarchy in the name of corporate interest. They were regarded as the most revered empire in the world, with a vast and efficient economy, incredible military might, and irrational leadership.

Structure

The Tornun Federal Government was a democratic oligarchy dictated by two main entities: the federal wing of democratically elected officials, and the Collective wing, which consisted of oligarch aristocrats which claimed partial supremacy in guise as a freethinking voice for the ruled class of civilian population. The stratification of these two government wings revealed several unwarranted tensions among the colossal empire, and would soon lead to its eventual metamorphosis into the International Health and Militaristic Division by a method of military supremacy across the globe after the Event in 12556.

The Federal Wing

The Federal Wing was structured as a collective senate wherein representatives of each statehood would arrive to discuss in open forum the ongoings of the nation. These representatives also elected executive leaders, alongside a public vote. Rather than have a subsection for legislature, the ongoings of legislature were actively reviewed by both the governors of the individual statehoods, and the Collective Wing.

The Collective Wing

The Collective Wing, though in actuality a multinational conglomerate, was the second wing of the Tornun government. The Collective was a group of high aristocrats, mainly of private military corporations and consumer product corporations, who distinguished themselves as heralds of the governed population. The Collective acted as a "citizen's voice," and was active in Tornun's legislative and judiciary processes.

Culture

The Tornian culture was bogged by over a millennia of ethnic bias which was deep rooted as nationalist hegemony among the majority of its population. Of all representatives elected in Tornun, only five were another race of Ciphrin, and there were never Diphrin electorates in its history of reign. While the civilian population of Tornun was actually fairly diverse, there was no shortage of racial incidents, and segregation was commonplace among much of the empire. A fair 5/7ths of the population was Normatite, and only 1/1000ths of the nation was Diphrin. In many places across the southeast, there were even routine bounties for Knomnolites and Ceniphs made by civilian request to local law enforcement. Despite the intense cultural hegemony, some Diphrin populations still remained in small pockets in Tornun, usually living as poor, nomadic caravans which often squatted in abandoned lots and avoided cities at all costs.

Public Agenda

Despite Tornun's actual operation, a great many of its population believed in the democratic process wherein their statehood were governed.
