Wards
Wards are a defensive technique used with both active and inactive cells. The basic concept behind a ward is the diffusion of oncoming attacks by providing a physical barrier.
Effect
By creating a solid barrier, wards are capable of essentially blocking any oncoming attacks such as projectiles, provided they don't exceed the force limit. Force limits are dependent on how thick the barrier is, whether its propped up against something more sturdy, or what shape it is.
Manifestation
There are three types of basic manifestations of wards, although more can be applied for the situations given.
Wall wards take the shape of one sheet of Termoyl. They can vary in dimensions, and can be utilized in a three dimensional space to the user's liking. These are the most common as well as the easiest to conjure.
Pillbox wards are often hollow, spherical or prism-shaped constructs which engulf the user, protecting them from all sides and allowing them to view the battlefield from a virtually invulnerable position. They are the most effective against ballistic and explosive projectiles, and can make or break some battles depending on how they are used.
Scaffold wards are wards that users prop themselves over, giving them higher ground in fights that are needed. They project the lower portion of the user, and provide ample room to observe the battlefield below them. Additionally, they can also be used as defensive bridges in times of need.

Material Components
Wards, because they require inactive cells to solidify and harden, cannot be moved. This means the caster must remain in place if they wish to stay protected, and deconstruct the ward upon changing positions.
