Defeated and afraid, the last bastions of organic life flee their home systems to find a new sanctuary, far away from the world eaters.
It is not known today what life looked like before the great disarmament. Schools teach children that it was a paradise free from war or hunger, but that is unlikely to be true. Technology that could bring back the dead, seal deadly wounds in seconds and robots with sapience are all stories shared amongst the hopeful. It is widely accepted however; that this technology is what called the world eater.
It is said that many civilisations fell, and the ones that live today are simple shells. Shadows of their former selves. The technology used to allow organic life to flee certain death was stripped of most magnificent technological marvels in order to save fuel and allow passage to as many people as possible.
