Circinus
15th of Malaph, 1502
Circinus is a split world. The five continents; Aeli, Kaemin, Rudagor, Balaste, and Synis, were once whole in ages past. Back when the gods had bestowed life upon the world. They rose from the ground grass and sea, and filled up everything they saw with movement. The gentle waves across the shore, the wind to blow through their hair. Light to fill the void, and the voices of their children. For a millenia, the world was as such, and the creators walked amongst the created.
From beyond the gods sight, an outsider approached the world. It came with a bright flash and crashed into the gods creation (Kol's Crater). It's impact so great it blotted out all light and left the gods blind. Standing from the rubble was an immaculate figure. They spoke to the gods in a tongue not even they knew. With no reply able to be given, the gods demanded the outsiders intentions. Once more, the foreign tongue came. One of the gods stepped forward, and it is said that was when the outsider struck. With the dust still settling, the others were not able to clearly see what happened, they only heard the struggle. As the air cleared, they saw their fellow standing before them, alone. But their form changed, and still changing. Long gone the soft skin, flowing hair, and gentle demeanor. It was replaced by a face contorted in rage. This affront to their work and brethren brought anger to the gods, a foreign emotion for them.
And they brought war for the first time on Circinus. War against their own. In that first battle, they were nearly soundly defeated. They lost many of their brothers and sisters, but those who survived, were able to retreat. The gods set their peoples to acquiring minerals and magic energy. The leylines across the world, built even before the gods were born, were tapped into by the gods themselves. They forged artifacts for war.
Despite the advantage of numbers over their enemy and the weapons they had built, they still fell, one after another. It was at this time that one came up with an idea, to tap into the leylines and sap the world of energy. If only to deny it to the one they fought. And so the gods did, and from this emulsification of power the gods ascended out of the realms of the world they had created, leaving behind four avatars. These avatars would become known as Norte, Oeste, Edelyn, and Sur. The newly awakened beings knew only one thing, destroy the rogue, corrupted god. The four worked quickly to this goal and confronted the being on the land that would become known as Kaemin. Those who lived on the surrounding lands perished from a crescendo of violent destruction, but in the end, the avatars were able to subdue the god deep below, farther down than any other had dared tread. With their target locked away and no threat, the four lost their purpose. It is said that they traveled, for a time. But the waging of war had taken much of their previous naive nature, and so they settled across the four corners of Circinus, dragging behind with them the lands they held most dear.
