Forsythe (FOR-sith)
Forsythe- God of Trickery- Forsythe is the god of trickery and luck. His form is ageless, but most often he appears as a young man. His skin is ever-changing in color, much like that of a squid. It is slimy and appears to have a sort of dappled pattern to it. He is small, and while his is typically shorn short, if it were longer it would writhe as a squid’s tentacles. He has white eyes with square, open pupils. You never really know where he is looking. His clothes are white and simple, constrasting with the everchanging tone of his skin. He tricks many into impossible chances and has been known to change odds and bets in his favor on a whime. None have ever been known to best him… except one. Hekan. You see, Forsythe used to be a human scholar, Ellis Forsythe, and one of Hekan’s own followers. He was overeager, the self-proclaimed closest being to his patron deity, the god of knowledge, magic and the unknown, and tried over and over to outdo his own offerings of magic to the deity. At one point, he thought himself all-knowing, and challenged Hekan to a duel of wit. Hekan answered the challenge, bemused by the thought and curious—Ellis had indeed been one of his closest followers, but Hekan was a god—he wasn’t about to be bested—and so he rigged their game—cheating Ellis of his victory and cursing him to an immortal existence, with an ability to speak in nothing but riddles and lies.
