Govt: Kingdom
Capital: Kakkiio
Culture: Fukibi
22 cities, 1.5 M pop
Malkai is a rather mountainous region in the Northeast of the [Eastern Continent] and is almost exclusively the home of the [Fukibi] owl-people. These people are quite competnet and tend to travel the world as nomads for some time once they've reached adulthood. Especially those who wish to follow their ancestral footprints and open libraries in the far reaches of the world. Malkai is home to wondrous mountains, yes, but they also possess a pair of beautiful waterfalls, a long stretch of coastline and excellent trade relations with the... admittedly sketchy, Murakeans.
This country may be home to mountains, but they also possess a pair of beautiful waterfalls, as well as the great Fukibian library.
Have excellent relations with most of the world due to their generous nature when it comes to their libraries.
Note: there are more libraries in Malan than in any other country, because at the time of their construction worldwide, the King of Malkai decided he fancied the king/queen of Malan, and enacted on that crush by spending boatloads of money on the country.
Places of Interest: (N to S)
Kakkiio (Capital City):
Harbor
Castle
Walls
Marketplace
Library
Hootafern Bar- a bar in Pöllö Harjanne
Karelia Hot Springs- a natural hot spring in the Karelia alukap.
Sqwaking Pockman- a rowdy tavern in Vellamo
Estakiin Waterfall- a beautiful waterfall hidden in the large mountains at the mouth of the bay.
Siikarne blacksmith
Siikarn silver mining town
Chockflam- a tavern in the city of Siikarne. Patrons are mostly the silver mine workers.
School in Puri
Tavern, unnamed
Blacksmith on the border between the Iloritia alukap and the Kaiinu alukap
Naplia Hot springs- a hot spring in the Naplia alukap. Kept at a perfect temperature year round with just a bit of magic when needed.
King’s Library- This library is not as flashy as the one in Kakkiio, mostly for the fact that it is literally dug out into the mountain. The books kept here are from all over the world and it is the largest collection in the world. The only way you may enter this library (should you know of its existence) is by offering new information. Even then you will be escorted by a Malkain security guard and kept tight scrutiny over. Books do not leave this library and visitors are extremely infrequent, on purpose.
Perulai Boardhouse- Sirtaa may be a tiny town, but it is a great destination place to stay for those wishing to visit the Klospo waterfall. It is a bit hard to get to, so the tourism isn’t great, but its such a beautiful area, the locals would never dream of leaving. This boardhouse exists for those needing/wanting to stay in the area.
Viewpoint- a beautiful spot where the sun just barely shines over the gap between mountains and lights up the valley below with dazzling brilliance.
