Elfelite River

The smallest of the three rivers that flow through or alongside Khezvaros is the Elfelite, which runs through the southern part of the Necropolis before winding to form the border between Arena Ward and the Imperial Ward. Though small, the Elfelite is fast-flowing and very deep, which is fortunate given the river's function as a place of water burial. Tradition holds that a soul whose remains are placed in the Elfelite will sink down into the waters of oblivion, allowing them to be reborn into new lives with no memory of their former existence. This chance at a whole new life makes burial in the Elfelite a popular choice among those who are concerned about Argalak, the Weigher of Souls' decision regarding their afterlife fate. Other burials in Elfelite are involuntary, as criminals long ago realized that dumping a body in the river arouses no suspicion if you do it inside the Necropolis.   Because of the Elfelite's strong current, most bodies that are thrown into the river are carried out to sea before whatever was used to weigh them down can come lose and allow the corpse to resurface, but on a good week two or three bodies will pop back up due to improper burial or other mishap. When this happens, a game of Sink inevitably ensues.
