Kyra Victorious

This 100' tall statue was erected on The Slab just north of the marketplace when Khezvaros joined the Empire. The statue depicts Kyra the Eternal Empress dressed in full battle armor. Her left hand rests on the head of an imperial lion. In her right hand she holds aloft her sword, the pommel of which is set with an enormous red stone. This is the Dragonstone of Kirlyok. From time to time the stone emits an eerie red glow. Some people believe that this is a sign of Kirlyok attempting to return to our world. Others believe that it's a sign that the Empress or someone in her employ is using the gem as a scrying device to keep tabs on the city.
The statue was the target of frequent vandalism when it first went up and as a result it is now guarded at all times by 10 members of the Imperial Governor's personal guard. There are a number of factions and individuals who have expressed interest in acquiring the dragonstone, but even the thieves of Khezvaros aren't bold enough to attempt to steal a 5-foot wide, 5 ton rock from its setting over 100' above the most crowded section of the city.
