One of the protagonist in Full Metal Alchemist. Alphone, Al to to his friends, is the youngest brother to Edward Elric. When he and his brother used alchemy to bring back their mother from the dead, there was a deadly rebound and Alphonse body vanished to the other side of the gate. A deveasted Edward immedietly used alchemy to bring back the soul of his brother and attach it to armor. Due to this, Al cannot sleep, or eat, though he goes into a kind of trance when he decides to rest. In terms of skill, he is a better fighter than Ed, and can use alchemy by using a symbol, unlike Ed.
Alphonse fate goes in two directions, though favaroably fans like the Brotherhood route as it's a happier deal, while the 03 anime has a unique showing of what could happen. Lore: Al and his brother will appear in this world and due to the unusual deal, will see if they can find something similar to the philosphers stone due to the various new ruins. He will also travel with Lina Inverse.
