I think Lupin would only confront anyone who confronts him. Otherwise, its all about getting away with the most profitable heist (not always art). Lupin is especially drawn to challenges. The more "impossible" it is to acquire, the more he's likely to target that object.
So if someone is going to stop him then its just another facet to the main objective. If need be, he's the kind that researches everything there is to know about his enemies... not just about how to break in somewhere. He's super tech savvy and known as a man of a million disguises.
Ben: So if he has Win quotes, most if not all of them should be form the position that, the other charcater started the fight with him, as he wouldn't willingly fight them without a plan before hand. Rocky: He has had to suddenly confront, unprepared, random enemies. But if he knows he's going to deal with them again, then hey prepare to take it up a few notches to find out more about that person or who they're working for, etc.
Rocky: He's a mega womanizer Just a freaking horny toad, and if his opponent is female, he'll most likely go after her instead of waiting for her to come after him again Ben: My knee jerk reaction is to be concerde if he's a creep or not. Rocky: He's a creep
BUT, anime Lupin is a more relaxed creep anime goofy, womanizing Lupin got popular
Ben: Would he still flirt at girls if Fujiko is standing RIGHT THERE? XD Rocky: THE HOE HAS DONE IT BEFORE but there's a part of me that thinks he does it because she never reciprocates his advances
But his flirtations are not always distasteful. But it's like he can't say no to a woman
BUT (side note), Lupin is a genius. Legit.

He's clever AF because part of being a thief means having to be deceptive
He almost always has the upper hand. And when he doesn't, he makes it a point not to repeat that scenario again That's when the research kicks in, learning about his enemies, their tactics etc...
OH!! another random side note: he carries an a plethora of devices, tools, bombs on him at all times, hidden in his clothes, shoes, watch, teeth Like , this little bitch is prepared for anything He's fucking Macgyver
