Crystalite Elements

Crystalites are typically considered to have one or two permanent elements, which are based on the natures of their original biome and their animal and plant inspirations. Exactly what the elements are called, and how finely they may be subtyped, varies across cultures.   In general, there are four basic categories that elemental subtypes can be divided into:
  • Water // Liquid
  • frequent subtypes include Freshwater, Saltwater, and Ice
  • Land // Solid
  • frequent subtypes include Earth and Flora (which can be further broken down into Wood, Foliage, Flower)
  • Wind // Gas
  • Light // Ray
  • frequent subtypes include Fire and Lightning
  • unlike the other primary types, this category includes subtypes that are characterized by a lack of light: Shadow and Moon

    Niche Elements

  • arboreal animals
  • Foliage (green plantlife) *
  • some insects (aphids, stick bugs)
  • Flower (including fruit and mushrooms) *
  • specialized creatures like fruit bats and hummingbirds
  •   * Usually used when a plant is a visible part of a crystalite; rarely indicates the animal portion.
