Alban Ayers
Alban Ayers
Hello there! I'm Alban Ayers, and my story kicks off right in the heart of Chicago, Illinois. Yep, that's where I grew up, smack in the middle of the Windy City. So you can imagine, I had skyscrapers galore to climb and explore during my childhood.
My whole obsession with construction and engineering ignited pretty early. You see, my old man's a civil engineer, and he used to take me along to construction sites all the time. I'd be checking out those towering cranes, massive concrete structures, and the non-stop action at the site. It was like a real-life adventure, and I couldn't get enough of it. That's when my love for building stuff and designing things took root.
As I hit my teenage years, I was dead set on following in my dad's footsteps. I poured myself into my studies, aced math and science, and landed a scholarship to a top-notch engineering college right here in Chicago. College life was all about fine-tuning my skills and diving headfirst into the world of construction tech.
After I snagged my degree, I jumped into my gig as a Mechanical Technician. I got to work on some wild projects that were all about pushing the limits and keeping things eco-friendly. The best part? Installing those geothermal heating and cooling systems in buildings, which was a game-changer for the environment and energy savings. It was the perfect mix of tech and construction, and I ate it up.
Now, about life-changing stuff. There's Claudia, the love of my life. She's this fun and creative lady, and when we crossed paths, we just knew it was something special. After two years of dating, we took the plunge and tied the knot. But the real adventure was just starting, as we waited in anticipation for our first kid. Parenthood was a whole new ball game, and it was a mix of excitement and nerves.
In the juggling act between my demanding job and my personal life, I made sure to keep the flame alive with a bunch of hobbies. Books were my go-to escape, fiction or non-fiction, they were a ticket to another world. Hiking and getting lost in the outdoors was my way of recharging, and vintage vinyl records, they had a cozy, nostalgic feel.
Life didn't shy away from tossing curveballs in my path, but I've always seen them as stepping stones to get ahead. Facing those challenges, whether in my career or as I was getting ready for parenthood, was all about growing and learning.
Don't get me wrong, I might have the occasional cigarette, but my health and my family's wellbeing were always top priorities. I was mindful of the choices I made, and I wanted to be an energetic and dedicated dad, passing down values of hard work and resilience.
Here I am, standing at the edge of a brand-new chapter. Each day is a new adventure, whether I'm crafting the world with engineering wonders or raising my little one. Life's a wild ride, and I'm up for wherever it takes me.
