Andre Rodriguez

Hi there, I'm Andre Rodriguez, and my adventure as a mechanical engineer has been quite the ride from day one. I'm now 34 years old, and my love for elevators and escalators is more than just a phase.   My story begins in the lively city of Barcelona, Spain. I was born into a bustling, close-knit family that filled our home with laughter and the mouthwatering scent of Mediterranean dishes. My father, a master carpenter, and my mother, a dedicated nurse, provided a nurturing environment that encouraged curiosity and exploration.   As a kid, I was always fascinated by things that moved. Whether it was toy trains or simple pulley systems, I couldn't resist taking them apart to see how they worked. This inquisitiveness was the first step on my path to becoming a mechanical engineer, a journey that would soon focus on vertical transportation.   I pursued my mechanical engineering education in the heart of Barcelona, a city blending rich history with modern innovation. The combination of ancient architecture and cutting-edge design fascinated me, and I knew I wanted to play a role in shaping the future of construction.   My professional journey kicked off as an intern at a local engineering firm, where I got my first taste of elevators and escalators. It was there that I discovered my true calling. I was captivated by the complex machinery that smoothly moved people within buildings, and I knew that this was where I belonged.   In my role, I'm like the conductor of an orchestra for elevators and escalators. I choose the right equipment, arrange them in buildings, and make sure they all work seamlessly while keeping everyone safe. Crafting systems that whisk people up and down within a structure is a puzzle I thrive on solving, and I was determined to excel in this field.   Beyond my work, I'm an adventure enthusiast. The proximity of Barcelona to the stunning Pyrenees mountains turned it into my playground for rock climbing adventures. Scaling those cliffs became my escape from the urban hustle. It's on those cliffs that I learned the importance of precision and safety, skills that I carry back to my designs.   Family is at the centre of my life. I met my wife, Maria, in college, and she's been my partner through every climb, whether it's in my career or on the mountains. We decided to start a family, and soon, our son, Mateo, brought boundless joy to our lives, followed by our lovely daughter, Isabella. The thrill of designing elevator systems is exhilarating, but coming home to the warmth of my family is the greatest reward.   Life can be a rollercoaster, much like the elevators I design. Every challenge I face in my career, every summit I conquer on the rocks, I approach with the same tenacity and curiosity. I believe that life's journey is about pushing boundaries, taking calculated risks, and making the world safer and more efficient. As an engineer, an adventurer, and a family man, I'm always ready to embrace what lies ahead, for it's the journey itself that makes life truly remarkable.
