Hi there! My name is Jordyn Waller, and I'm a 29-year-old horticulturist living in Tasmania, Australia. I work at Wild Island Nursery, where I spend most of my days surrounded by plants and flowers of all kinds. It's a dream job for me since I've always loved being in nature and learning about different species.
I grew up in a small town on the east coast of Australia, where my parents Miles and Sherry still live. I have one older brother, Benjamin, who is a marine biologist and lives in Sydney. Growing up, my family always encouraged me to explore my interests, which is how I fell in love with plants and nature. We used to take regular camping trips, which really solidified my love for the outdoors.
I pursued my passion by studying horticulture at the University of Tasmania, and after graduation, I was lucky enough to land a job at Wild Island Nursery. When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking, birdwatching, and painting landscapes. I also love to travel and explore new places, both locally and internationally.
One of my unique hobbies is bonsai tree cultivation, which I find both challenging and rewarding. I have a small collection of bonsai trees that I care for and prune regularly, and I even participate in local bonsai exhibitions.
I'm passionate about environmental conservation and sustainability, and I try to live my life in a way that reflects those values. I'm always looking for new ways to reduce my carbon footprint and support eco-friendly practices.
