Pam Phelps

Reptile Expert - part of Grant's core team.   Hi there! I'm Pam Phelps and I'm a reptile expert at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Tasmania. I've been working in the wildlife conservation field for over two decades and have a deep love and passion for all creatures, big and small. At Bonorong, I work alongside the talented and dedicated team led by Grant Ironbach and Sarah Ironbach, where I get to use my expertise to help care for and protect the amazing reptiles in our care.   In my free time, I enjoy exploring the beautiful outdoors, either by hiking or kayaking in the nearby national parks. I'm also an avid birdwatcher, and love to spend hours observing the unique and diverse bird species in the area.   One of the biggest challenges in my field is ensuring that all creatures, including reptiles, are protected and respected in their natural habitats. I work hard to educate others about the importance of conservation and how we can all play a role in preserving our planet and its incredible wildlife.   Overall, I feel grateful every day to be able to work with such a wonderful and dedicated team, in a field that I am truly passionate about. I look forward to continuing my work at Bonorong and making a difference in the lives of the reptiles in our care.
