Having returned to her desk, Detective Sarah Lahey found herself once again confronted by the relentless array of paperwork that demanded her attention. She conducted a search in the central database for Louise Jeffries and Kain Jeffries, only to be met with disappointing results.
  Undeterred, Sarah broadened her search to include Jeffries Manor, which yielded a cascade of direct hits. As she delved into the rich history of the manor and its original owner, William Jeffries, Sarah found herself captivated by the tale of his transformation from young convict to successful entrepreneur. However, it was the mysterious disappearance of William Jeffries shortly after the birth of his son that truly piqued her interest.
  As Sarah continued her research, she encountered an assortment of bizarre conspiracy theories, ranging from the involvement of Jeffries' wife to alien abductions and extra-terrestrial visitors. While intriguing, Sarah maintained a healthy skepticism, recognising the difference between fact and fiction in the realm of law enforcement.
