Detective Karl Jenkins and his partner, Sarah, follow Gladys Cramer to Jamie Greyson's house, hoping to find answers to the disappearances of Jamie and Kain. Upon arriving, they discover that the house appears empty, despite Gladys's earlier claims that Jamie was home cooking.
  As they enter the house, the atmosphere is thick with tension and unspoken questions. Sarah begins to survey the surroundings, her curiosity piqued by the lack of any signs of dinner preparations. Karl, meanwhile, questions Gladys about Jamie's living situation, learning that he shares the house with his partner, Luke, who has allegedly gone to Melbourne due to personal troubles.
  Gladys's responses and demeanour raise further suspicions in Karl's mind. He asks to use the bathroom as a pretext to investigate further, while Sarah engages Gladys in conversation about the supposed dinner plans. As Karl moves down the hallway, he finds himself drawn to a back corner bedroom, his detective instincts guiding him towards the room where he knows black garbage bags are piled inside.
