Life, Relocation
In a desperate attempt to secure much-needed help, Luke deceives and forcefully pushes Kain, Jamie's nephew, through the portal, and into Clivilius.
On a morning following a haunting nightmare, Luke is awakened by a gentle knock at his door. He opens it to find Kain, the nephew of his absent partner, Jamie. Kain inquires about Jamie's whereabouts, as his family has been unable to contact him for several days. Luke, caught off guard, struggles to provide a convincing explanation for Jamie's absence. Inviting Kain inside, Luke grapples with the idea of involving him in an otherworldly predicament, recognising the potential value of Kain's physical strength. When Kain goes to the bathroom, Luke briefly reveals a hidden portal, a vibrant and dangerous anomaly, before closing the door and returning to his guest. Under the pretext of needing help moving a TV cabinet, Luke lures Kain towards the portal. As they approach, Luke engages Kain in a rambling conversation to distract him. At the critical moment, Luke slides open the door, exposing the portal, and forcefully pushes Kain. Despite Kain's reflexes and strength, Luke manages to unbalance him, sending him tumbling into the swirling vortex of colours. With a whispered apology, Luke steps through the portal himself, venturing into the realm where he has sent Kain. The lines of morality blur as the urgency of the situation overshadows any guilt, and Luke finds himself crossing the threshold into a world of extraordinary circumstances. This event marks a significant betrayal, as Luke deceives and forcefully involves Kain in a mysterious and potentially dangerous situation, prioritizing his own agenda over the trust and safety of Jamie's family member. The consequences of this action remain to be seen as both Luke and Kain find themselves in Clivilius, their fates now intertwined by Luke's desperate gambit.
