Clockwork Nations
How strange the concept of history. It is said to be written by the victor so we never truly know the full story from those that lost. More humorous still is how one moment in history, slightly changed, shifts the outcome of the entire world. The path that it was set on diverged differently from what we know and remember. Now what if that one change were instead many...
The American Colonies lost their revolution, cementing the strength & resolve of England as a global empire. From that loss, the nations of the world shifted, giving rise to new empires and the fall of others. The world embraced the power of steam, coal and oil; the soot that covers the ground, the smoke that fills the sky are testaments to human progress. Men made of gears & brass walk the streets, designed to help improve our lives or devastating them when they go haywire. Things once thought science fiction are becoming science fact, with the wild dreams of Dickens, Verne, Tesla and others slowly becoming reality. The impossible comes closer to being certainty but challenges will still mire that progress. The powers that be push & pull, altering the world's ebb & flow and the lives of people in it. As new cultures, sciences, challenges and mysteries rise, the adventures in this world are just waiting to be discovered.
