Stellar Passport

You ever take a Star Ferry from Majorus to Uro? Iierus to Raa? Then you'll have one of these. These are a requirement for any and all forms of stellar transportation within Codai Government Space. While there are some allowances for those simply passing the edges of the system, if you are spending long periods of time in the sector then you'll be expected to oblige.
The passport is split into several levels, designating what you can pilot (if anything) and listing restrictions. It is able to be broadcast, read as written, and can be visually presented to relevant computers for additional information.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Stellar Passport is very similar to the modern day passport, with a few exceptions. Firstly, there is no sections for stamps - these pages are replaced with whatever the local trading laws are for that sector, sub-divided by planet and, in some cases, station. These update based on information passed forward from local beacons. As this communication is only done at light speed, the passport can occasionally take up to 20 minutes to ensure it is up to date.
The identification page, however, is very similar. It integrates a bit more information, however, as it effectively integrates a driving license and a pilots license as well. For this reason, the identification page is broken down over 3 pages, 4 for major pilots. It will also include sections of any sales licenses (e.g. medical carriage of drugs) if you have any attached to your pass.

These passports are "printed" via a secure computer chip manufactory. These chips are made to order, and contain extremely personalized information. These will be inserted into the main body of the device, which is hard-coded to only work for the chip and vice versa. From there, the pass is active. Updates are held client-side, but need to be authorized through a secured terminal.
