Dancing Donkey Tavern

Entering The Dancing Donkey Tavern, one is greeted by a clustered collection of worn wooden tables and chairs, a crackling fireplace which casts an inconsistent, warm glow across the dark mahogany interior. A long, tarnished bar counter stretches out against the far wall, behind which shelves of assorted spirits and brews reach up towards the rafters, narrating a tale of centuries old hospitality.   An unusual fresco of a grinning, dancing donkey adorns the main wall - the pub's unique mascot and namesake, seemingly innocuous but clouded with an air of unspoken mystery.

History

Housing a rich tapestry of rumors, stories and characters, The Dancing Donkey Tavern has stood at the junction of Rigsby’s Rode and Fellgoth’s Route for centuries. Folklore tells of its establishment by a carousing minstrel with an unusually sprightly donkey. Yet, whispers suggest a far deeper narrative - tales of a hidden cellar revealing a long-lost portal leading to the shrouded Draughtlands, and a prophecy saying it can be awakened by the 'tune of the Donkey's dance'.
