Nobility foresaw the need for a port to serve the trade needs of the Northern sanction.
Several of the nobility who had ventured in trade foresaw the need for a wider variety of high-end goods that can be found in other parts of the world. The banding together came from the richest of these nobles, Earl Senwith proposing the alliance and pooling of resources for the building of the port town. He also stated he would prohibit any business in the new port town if they did not join in this venture. At the time only a small fishing village was at the site where the town would be founded. The group of nobles presented their proposal to the 3 kings of the northern sanction asking for a decree to claim the land in the name of the Northern sanction. Permission was granted and agreements were made in secret for preferred trade agreements amongst the 3 rulers and the nobles.
