Spain is a country located in Europe sharing its borders with the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and Africa. It is the largest country in southern Europe and was one of the largest empires to exist, being the first to sail around the globe as well as colonizing the Americas. The country is a member of both the United Nations and NATO.
