Ukraine (you-crane)
Ukraine is a country in eastern Europe and is the second largest country on the continent next to Russia. It gained independence in 1991 with the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It is currently the poorest country in Europe and suffers from major socio-political issues brought on by corruption and post-Cold War threats. It is a founding member of the United Nations .
