FOREIGN BODY APPROACHING PLANET'S ATMOSPHERE. EXPECT MAJOR EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT.   The Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event occurs, where 80% of all species went extinct. The Cenozoic Era begins with the Paleocene Epoch of the Paleogene Period.

The Elder Things awaken from hibernation and begin to study the planet and re-establish colonies, forming a monumental city out in what would eventually become the Yucatan Peninsula. Total disaster strikes as a meteor crashes, destroying the city and wiping away all the colonists entirely. Earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, major wind storms, falling debris, and a nuclear winter trigger a major extinction event. The Elder Things are forced to retreat once more and enter hibernation.

All cryptids and kaiju species survive but go into hibernation.
