The Dock Riots

The first expression of bubbling discontent that would eventually result in the Fracture War breaking out, the Dock Riots were a series of demonstrations-turned-hostile of planetary, space elevator, and starstation dockworkers against the siphoning of resources away from the planets that produced them for little in return.

Common belief holds that the first actual riot broke out on the planet of Principle, where they managed to drive Central Authority forces away from the planetary dock point.

These forces would return in a week's time, decimating the dockworkers and the planet's militia, who had joined the riots, but they had already become a symbol for those who were watching on TV, and that message was relayed among the stars to inspire a great deal of others.
