The Ashen King is driven by an intense desire for vengeance against the rest of his elven kin who cursed him with undeath and the Gods who betrayed him and slaughtered his people.

The King exhibits a great understanding of traditions of the peoples of Concordia along with his skillset in leadership and military strategy all of these are echoes of the King's past life and it would be easy to see how the Ashen King was a great ruler of the Elven Peoples.

The King seems to have a great hatred of the religious, avoiding temples and priests. He seems to also have an aversion of healers as the soothing healing magics commonly employed have been shown to cause discomfort and in some cases pain to the undead.
