Gravity

The most basic thing you ever know can become the most dangerous thing in some conditions, and that thing is nature.

Gravity is the most basic force of nature. Whatever the mass exists there is always gravity; Everything in the universe relies on gravity, to be honest. If only matters is in the right place and at the right time, it can be a blessing or a curse. Even still, humanity managed to learn how to manipulate and even mass-produce it like a toy.

Powered Gravity

For the longest time, the gravity simulators allow themselves to generate the surface environment within their ships without adding large, fatty centrifugal rings, as well as eliminating the external force from other planets, so they can walk around and putting stuff in place much easier. These simulators can be installed in any size of vessel, from ejectable escape pods to orbital spaceports.

The working progress is mysterious yet fascinating however, the usage also comes with energy consumption, so use it with responsibility.

Megastructure

The closest thing to craft the natural gravity is imitation. The main focus is the center of mass, and it's always the most critical factor for constrcuting the artificial planets. The most basic method is using the structure itself to compress the mass into the center point done with precise calculation, or just building on top of the existing one. Some methods are very crazy like creating the molten core. Some are even crazier by using the fracture or cluster of the neutron stars, but not as much as using the mini black hole.

Jumping

In the jumping progress, pathing the way for FTL is unavoidable, and with the use of natural gravity, one ship can save the energy and jumping time required for each destination by greater numbers.

The Meltdown of the Coriolis

The nature is unpredictable by itself, and the artificial one is no exception. The unusal gravitational method, overload mass or uncontrollable system may result in the structural failure.

The Terra Coriolis used to be famous as one of the first artificial planet ever built, until it collapsed and packed tonnes of materials and million of lifes. Even though it's indirect cause but of course, the gravity always finish the job.

The One Who Name Them All

The miscalculated jumping path might lead to the wrongful turn thanks to the massive gravity from some stars. There was a legand of the one who jump straight to the star that inspired the most well known name of all the jumping devices - Icarus.

Nevertheless, pathing near the critical height of any celestial objects can give people the exciting experience - like riding a rollercoaster.

I have not gotten to read many of the articles in this world! I remember Betty. Nice overview of gravity and challenges with it in the setting.
