Der Impress // The Impress

Der Impress ist eine große Plattform aus alten Schwebemodulen, mit denen Container am Boden bewegt wurden. Bewegt wird er von drei alten Triebwerken aus semi-autonomen Containern unter der Plattform, die jeweils um 360° gedreht werden können. Auf der Plattform sind drei Containern verankert, die als Quartiere für Crew und Reisende dienen, eine Kombüse und eine kleine Werkstatt, sowie einen Karten- und Navigationsraum beherbergen. Auf den Containern wurde ein weiteres Element angebracht, das wohl aus einem alten Shuttle geschnitten wurde und jetzt als Brücke dient. Das gesamte Konstrukt hängt unter einem großen, röhrenförmigen Ballon, gefüllt mit Gas. Unter der Plattform hängen zusätzliche Transportnetze. Rund um die Plattform bietet ein Stückwerk aus Seilen und alten Geländern einen rudimentären Schutz davor, von der Plattform zu fallen, zumindest an den Stellen, an denen keine Fracht verzurrt wurde. An den vier Ecken der Plattform sind Harpunengeschütze montiert.

Der Ballon ist von einem schmutzigem Grau und weist eine Vielzahl Flicken in unterschiedlichen Größen auf. Die Container wurden erst kürzlich frisch gestrichen in einem matten und unauffälligem Grün. Die Plattform selbst ist ein Mosaik aus schwarz-gelb gestreiften Bereichen, in denen Fracht steht und weißen Laufbereichen, abgegrenzt mit blauen Streifen. In dem Netz unter der Plattform hängen Kisten, Fässer, Säcke, Maschinenteile und sonstiges Stückgut in allen Farben, versehen mit Mustern und Schriftzeichen, um anzuzeigen, wessen Eigentum sie sind.

The Impress is a large platform made from old hover modules that were used to move containers on the ground. It is moved by three old engines from semi-autonomous containers under the platform, each of which can be rotated 360°. Three containers are anchored on the platform, which serve as quarters for crew and passengers, house a galley and a small workshop, as well as a map and navigation room. Another element was attached to the containers, which was probably cut from an old shuttle and now serves as a bridge. The entire construct hangs beneath a large, tubular balloon filled with gas. Additional transport networks hang under the platform. Around the platform, a patchwork of ropes and old railings provides rudimentary protection against falling from the platform, at least in places where no cargo has been lashed. Harpoon guns are mounted on the four corners of the platform.

The balloon is a dirty gray and has a variety of patches in different sizes. The containers were recently freshly painted in a matt and inconspicuous green. The platform itself is a mosaic of black and yellow striped areas where cargo stands and white walking areas demarcated with blue stripes. Hanging in the net beneath the platform are boxes, barrels, sacks, machine parts and other general cargo of all colors, marked with patterns and characters to indicate whose property they belong to.
