Knights Roots
The staple produce grown in the southern deserts of Continental. able to grow with or without an oasis, they are the most common thing grown in the deserts. High in calories and carbs, they fill one up nicely. the roots taste earthy and slightly sweet. The roots can be eaten raw or cooked, have a long shelf life that is extended if they are salted, and can be served as a main or side player in a meal.
The roots once salted and cut into small strips are the rations given to The Wanderer Knights and the Assassin knights.
The root is as its name suggests, the underground roots of desert shrubs.

Ecology and Habitats
A dry, sandy enviornment with plenty of wind. This forces the shrub to store long term moisture in its roots, making them more nutritious when consumed.
