Message Typer
A very ancient kind of machine which listens to short messages and transcribes them on small pieces of paper. The maximum it can type in one go is 100 words. since Moumin is syllabic it can use small stamps instead of a keys like what a typewriter uses.
The device is operated by a series of strings and levers which the person writing the message pulls and lifts in a sort of mechanical dance. Each string activates a specific stamp while the levers act as the enter and punctuation keys.
Utility
Creation of short messages such as telegrams.
Social Impact
The mail system doesn't require literacy to have notes circulate through it, so it can be more effectively used. As well as the fact that a trained person can make multiple copies of the same message in a fraction of the time it would take to handwrite them.
Access & Availability
Most trade or mail network stations will have one.
Complexity
It is fairly complicated, and takes time to learn to operate efficiently.
Discovery
First invented by humans in the 200s ME it was a way to have a mostly illiterate population be able to use the Stronghold's mail system.
