The Age of What Was First
The world of Cordis originates from the union of two absolute beings: She of the Void and He of Magic. Their union produced two children: the first elemental, @Margrak, and @Zexhia. Margrak was a being of immense size and mass, with his entire body consisting of every form of matter that existed, representing every element. Margrak was a being of rage and violence, and the elemental powers that raged within him were so potent that they would form elementals. Elementals are children of Margrak, and the current prime elementals were all born during this era. However, Margrak was not a kind father and would often direct his anger at his children, who made their home within his body. @Zexhia would become jealous of the children Margrak created, even though Margrak would rather be without his offspring. In response, Zexhia went on to create her own children, the @Ixia, with @Sol being the first. Many uncounted years passed in this manner until an event occurred that would forever change this realm. The Age of the First War
The elementals would go ahead and kill their godamnasdlajlsaø dad The @Ixia, led by @Sol, would take charge to enforce a truce. This truce would halt active hostilities between the elementals and designate the heart of Margrak as a neutral zone where none of the great elemental powers could dominate. The heart would come to be called Cordis and serve as the foundation upon which much of the history unfolds. Cordis was created from the first act of patricide and forged during the first war - a violent birth indeed. The Age of Peace
It was after the signing of the truce that peace would come to Cordis. The raging elements had reduced Cordis to little more than molten rock. Under @Sol's watchful eye, Cordis cooled and gradually transformed into a verdant planet. After all, Cordis was the heart of Margrak, and while different body parts consisted of varying blends of elements, the heart was the part of Margrak's body that blended the elements the most. Every element can be found on Cordis. This, combined with the energy radiating from @Sol, provided the prerequisites for life to emerge. This lush world would become the place where most of the @Ixia would roam. Cordis was evolving into the green jewel around which the world would center. The age of Gods
As life flourished, the @Ixia discovered their ability to join with living beings. For the first time, the @Ixia could feel and experience the world as only the living can. Among these species were the ancestors of the elves, the first sentient beings. It is theorized that the elves' long lifespans and incredible potential in almost anything are due to excessive exposure to the @Ixia when the species was still young, dousing the nascent species in divine energy. Gods would emerge from the elves – individuals who had attracted the interest of so many @Ixia that the power they granted allowed them to stand above all others. These individuals would gather followers, and groups became clans, which evolved into nations and eventually empires. Empires that would wage war. One of these wars led to the elves splitting into three warring factions. Each of these factions possessed multiple gods whose battles would wreak havoc on Cordis' surface. The Age of the Downfall
The war waged by the elves raised the ire of the elementals, who saw the pets of the @Ixia scarring their holy site. @Sol was forced to take action and called for the assembly of all @Ixia. It was then that they came to a realization. Until that point, all @Ixia had been the same; some were larger, stronger, smarter, and faster, but all were essentially the same. However, after having been bound to the elves and other creatures, they had all been "colored." They had gained personalities of their own and had even developed diverging value systems. The only @Ixia who remained uncorrupted was @Sol. Sol had kept watch all this time, never binding herself to any one being or being influenced by any outside force. It was agreed that she, the first and last true @Ixia, would decide the fate of the elves and determine which of the three factions was in the right. @Sol came to the decision that the elves had to be removed. Over the course of a thousand years, the elves would slowly be eradicated. Hence, an entire age has been ascribed for the time from the first herald until the truce. The Dark age of Tyranny
In the wake of the fallen elven empires, a power vacuum had been created. During the time the elves ruled, many species had come into existence. Human settlements dotted most of the landmasses, and the dwarves had a few holdings in the mountains. However, it was none of these that would come to take the place the elves left. Dragons, formerly tamed or hunted by the elves, would start their own kingdoms, warring against each other with their human subjects. The dragons were not alone in building their empires. Giants had long been expanding their realms in the underground and had, by this time, enslaved multiple smaller folk, with the dwarves being prime among them. This age would last a couple of thousand years, with dragons and giants waging war against and amongst themselves. Some giants and dragons ruled their subjects with what some would describe as benevolence, but undoubtedly, they were all tyrants. As it was, many rebellions would be quashed by the dragons and giants. But it was when a being not seen in more than a thousand years emerged that things changed. The first human god emerged from the populace. Sol had given an edict for the @Ixia that they should never bind themselves with the elves. It was thought impossible that any new gods would rise, but regardless, one did who fought against the dragons. War had always been a part of this age, but now it was waged on a worldwide scale. Human settlements rose against their dragon overlords, joining the god's forces. The war for freedom would take more than a thousand years. The efforts of more than 20 generations were required for the humans to be free. Along the way, more gods had appeared not only among humans but among dwarves as well. All of these, however, were limited in the way they could act. They had been told by the @Ixia of what happened to the elusive race of the elves and what excessive hubris would lead to. They had created a council to mediate their conflicts to appease Sol and avoid the purge, should they shake the world. The Golden Age of progress
The Golden Age of Progress is named as such because of the peace and prosperity that was generally experienced in the world. It wasn't without conflict, but much of the world was ruled by civilization, and little land was left for wild monsters and destructive forces. Humanity had formed a society alongside the dwarves. This society progressed incredibly through the sciences and magic. Great cities rose, and the general wealth of the world was greater than ever before, even surpassing the old elven civilization. While gods were plentiful in numbers at this time, they were all governed by common rules created by the first gods. These rules were meant to limit the actions gods could take to prevent Sol's wrath. Most of the gods we know of are from this age. They would compete for followers and create works of art and splendor. This lasted for thousands of years until a single event caused its collapse. The Dark age of strife
