Description This tall metal staff with a twin-pronged top resembles a giant tuning fork, and is used by higher ranking members of The Scholastica Lexicanus as a Quarterstaff and key to the various magical circles and formations of the Scholastica. This staff functions as a rod of absorption that can absorb a number of spell levels equal to 1/2 the wielder's HD. Unlike a Rod of Absorption, it can be recharged once the levels have been discharged. This staff can also function as an Immovable Rod. As a standard action, the wielder of this staff can slam it into the ground, whereupon the staff will hover in place vibrating with a magical resonance. When a spell is cast that targets the wielder or an ally within 15 feet of them, the caster of the spell must make a caster level check equal to (DC 15 + Double Spell Level) or have their spell redirected to target any creature within the square the staff is hovering in, or the square if the spell was an AOE. If the target of the spell is no longer valid(Such as there being no creature within the staff's square) the spell fizzles. When the staff affects a spell this way, there is a 50% chance it falls to the ground and is inert for the rest of the day.
