Living Vampire
Living vampires can be of any of the major races, although humans are by far the most common. Living vampires come into existence in two ways, either they are born to a living vampire mother or they are created through magical means. Many living vampires have taken on vampirism through magical conversion as a way of gaining effective immortality.
Appearance
Living vampires tend to be much paler than average for members of their racial or ethnic group. Their skin will be generally free of normal blemishes, scars and skin diseases. If well fed, they seem to radiate an aura health and vitality giving them an air of increased attractiveness and physical beauty.
Abilities
Living Vampires have enhanced physical abilities receiving a +2 modifier on their strength, dexterity, and charisma. Their constitution is always 18. They also can see in the dark.
Living vampire also have several notable disadvantages. They are impaired in daylight and prefer to sleep or stay indoors during daylight hours. When exposed to normal daylight They receive a -3 modifier on their strength and dexterity.
When on individual is transformed into a living vampire they stop aging and will not age as long as they maintain the regular intake of blood.
Blood thirst
To maintain normal health and abilities as well as avoiding aging they must consume at least 7 hit points of human blood each week. If they fail to do so several problems will result. The strength, constitution, dexterity and charisma of the vampire will decrease by 1 point a day until they reach 1. When either strength or dexterity falls below three the vampire will be infirmed to the point of immobility and will fall into a stupor going in and out of consciousness.
Each day that the vampire does not satisfy its hunger beyond 7 days creates the risk of blood rage. Blood rage is when the vampire’s hunger overwhelms is self-restraint. Each day the vampire is unable to feed, it must save v. wisdom or immediately attack the first available target, be it human, Corgerian or Danite. The attack will continue until the vampire has drained the target or is driven off. Once the attack is over the vampire will continue to make attacks until it has consumed at least 14 hit points of blood. Once this limit is reached the vampire may make another saving throw. If successful, the vampire will regain self-control. If not, it will continue to attack any available targets. In addition to the normal daily saving throw additional saving throws must be made if the vampire is in close proximity to an individual who is bleeding. The DM must also require additional throws if the vampire is in high stress situations like combat.
Regeneration
Vampires may also feed to regenerate themselves from injuries. For every two points they consume they may regenerate one point of damage.
Vampires bite
Living vampires develop small needle like, retractable fangs that deploy when they feed. When feeding they inflict 1-4 points of bite damage. If the target is sleeping, unconscious or mesmerized, the vampire fangs will exude a mild sedative that will deaden the pain and promote continued passivity by the victim.
Mesmerizing
The vampire may attempt to mesmerize a victim. To do this the vampire must be within 10’ of the victim, be able to look directly into the target’s eyes and not be undergoing any major distractions. The victim will save v. wisdom or power (if the vampire is using the power). If the saving throw is successful, the victim will just think the vampire is staring intently into their eyes and might well mistake the look for intense, possibility romantic, interest.
