Order of Smoke Artificers

This is a group of alchemists who have mastered the production of gunpowder. They produce a variety of other interesting chemicals and potions, but gunpowder is their bread and butter. The Order closely guards the formula for gunpowder. Order members are distinguished by their red and black robes.

Structure

Typically a city will have a single master who will head the local guild. The master will have anywhere from 1-5 Guildsmen, who are full members of the guild and typically employed by the master. In turn, each one these Guildsmen will have 1 or 2 apprentices who may eventually rise to be Guildsmen.

To produce and train the producers of gunpowder.

Assets

The formula for gunpowder, which is memorized, but never written down. The alchemists of the guild know many other formulas most of which are written down.

History

The guild was formed about thirty years ago by a group of alchemists in cities a around the Windy Sea. Since this time th guild has steadily expanded to more cities including cities south of the Spine.
