The Black Band

A small but infamous mercenary band of about 100 members. The band is made up primarily of Hool warriors. The band fights as infantry favoring axes, two-handed swords, pole arms and large tear dropped shaped shields. The band members almost universally wear black scale mail. Using their great strength, the Hool warriors often simply smash their way through opposing formations. Their leaders is Thranos Derkar described as a giant of a man with long black hair and beard. Derkar wields a great war hammer and takes pride in his ability to bash in the heads of his opponents. Derakar is described as both charismatic and ruthless. Employers who have crossed the band have tended to end up dead.

Derkar is the band's leader, he is aided by three lieutenants and six sergeants.

Tactics

The unit specializes in using wedge shaped formation to break through opposing formations and formed a tight circular formation when faced with cavalry.
