The Forest Brothers

A group of peasant rebels numbering roughly 300. They have formed a movement to resist the Barons of the Kingdom of Wallen. The Brothers generally avoid open country moving through Forests and rough country. The engage in guerilla warfare ambushing patrols, robbing tax collectors and burning manor houses. The avoid pitched battle. Most of the Forest Brothers use the bow as their primary weapons and use a variety of axes, staves and blades for close combat. They are lightly armored preferring leather. They are experts at camouflage, generally dressing greens and browns. They typically camp in groups known as quarters consisting of roughly 25 fighters with the other quarter typically camped a short distance away. They employ a variety of traps as both part of the defenses for their camps and as part of their ambushes. An attack on one of their camps will typically result in other bands moving in on the rea and flanks of any attackers. Their leader is simply known as Harben. It is speculated the name Harben might have been used by several different leaders over the years. The band includes several witches who provide magical support and a number of women are included among the groups fighters. The women frequently serve as spies, scouts and messengers.
