Vresko
A strongly fortified town that guards Merras' northern border. The town is a natural fortress located on steep-sided hill with only two approaches. The town is surrounded by a 15' stone wall studded with well-sighted defensive towers. The town is very much a garrison town with its businesses serving the army and many of its residents are retired soldiers. The town is the Baronial Seat of Baron Sarris Bentor, a cousin of the Queen of Merras.
Demographics
Most of the town's residents are Northron Humans with perhaps one in ten resident being Corgerians. A single Danite merchant clan with about forty members resides in the town.
Government
The town is home to the baronies government, its jail and treasury. The town also hosts a company or royal troops and a squadron of medium horse.
Defences
The town is difficult to approach with a winding road exposed to fire from the ramparts going up the south side of the hill and a paved path with numerous steps going up the north side.of the hill. The walls are 15' high with towers placed at 100's intervals and equipped with artillery engines. A strong built citadel protected by cliffs on three sides protects the eastern side of the town and contains the barricks of the Royal troops. The Baron's fort8fied compound is located on the western side of the town.
Industry & Trade
The town is home to numerous blacksmiths, armorers and leather workers that supply the garrison as well as civilian trade. The town has more than it fair share of merchants several of whom make their living supplying the army.
Infrastructure
The town has paved streets and a well-built drainage system.
Architecture
The town is typical of northern architecture with buildings built out of stone or brick. Local wall demands roofs be made from fireproof materials like slate or ceramic tiles.
Geography
The town is on a steep sided hill that rises some 250 feet above the surrounding countryside.
